Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect the personal data you submit through this site, in line with GDPR and MLC 2006.
Data controller
The data controller is Seamar s.c., al. Jana Pawła II 1, 81-345 Gdynia, Poland (NIP 5862176840). For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at seamar@seamar.pl or +48 58 660 33 40.
What data we collect
Through the contact and seafarer application forms on this site we collect the information you submit directly: name, email, phone number, company and position (for crew requests), and — for seafarer applications — nationality, rank, vessel-type experience, time in rank, certificates held, availability, and an optional CV file.
Why we process it
Crew-request and general enquiries are processed to respond to your message and, where relevant, to prepare a commercial offer. Seafarer application data is processed to assess your candidacy, maintain our candidate database, and — where you are placed — to support recruitment and crewing administration in compliance with the MLC 2006 convention.
Legal basis
Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given when you submit a form, and on the steps necessary prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) where an application may lead to a placement.
Who sees it
Submitted data is handled by Seamar s.c. staff in Gdynia and, where a placement is being arranged, by our offices in Kyiv and Kherson under the same procedures. Where a submission concerns a specific vessel or shipowner, relevant details are shared with that shipowner as part of the crewing process. We use a third-party email delivery provider solely to transmit form submissions to our inbox; no data is sold or used for advertising.
Retention
Seafarer application data is kept in our active candidate database until you ask us to remove it. General enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then deleted.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data, to receive a copy in a portable format, or to withdraw consent (which does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal). Send requests to seamar@seamar.pl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority (Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych).
